The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, reacted following the shooting that occurred in the United States during an event attended by Donald Trump along with his wife, Melania Trump.
Begaj condemned the incident, emphasizing that violence is unacceptable and goes against the fundamental values of democracy. According to him, in a democratic society, differences are resolved through ideas and dialogue, not through force or violent attacks.
“I strongly condemn the armed attack against U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. In a democracy, differences are resolved through ideas and dialogue, not by force. Such brutal attacks that undermine democracy and damage its core values are unacceptable. I express full solidarity with the American people and wish continued health and safety to all those present,” Begaj wrote.
