Mexhiti Says Albanians in North Macedonia Need Support from Albanian State Institutions

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha meets Izet Mexhiti, leader of the Democratic Movement and mayor of Çair.

Mexhiti thanks Hoxha for the invitation. He stresses shared responsibility among Albanian leaders to strengthen ties between Albanians. He says Albanians in North Macedonia are an inseparable part of the Albanian nation. He also calls for stronger institutional care for them.

He highlights common priorities. He points to European integration and the advancement of Albanian issues. He says cooperation must deepen at both local and institutional levels.

Mexhiti says the discussions focus on shared agendas. He emphasizes the need for closer coordination among Albanian actors.

He states that North Macedonia is moving in the spirit of the Ohrid Agreement. He also says it is progressing on Albanian rights. He calls for Albania and North Macedonia to move forward together toward EU integration.

He concludes that Albanians in North Macedonia need support from Albanian state institutions. He says stronger cooperation is necessary to advance shared goals.
