Gjekmarkaj Meets Sottanelli to Strengthen Albania–Italy Friendship Relations

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Agron Gjekmarkaj meets Italian MP Giulio Cesare Sottanelli in the Parliament building. Sottanelli represents the “Azione” party.

Gjekmarkaj thanks Italy for its long-standing support to Albania. He highlights Italy as a key and stable partner. He also praises the role of the Italian government, the Chamber of Deputies, and the Senate in supporting Albania’s EU integration process.

The two sides discuss the role of the Albanian diaspora. They emphasize both historical and recent communities. They agree that the diaspora strengthens relations between the two countries.

They underline that the diaspora acts as a strong bridge. It connects Albania and Italy. It also promotes cultural, social, and economic cooperation.
