Viroi Park in Gjirokastër attracts camper travellers in spring

TIRANA, April 27 – Spring has increased visitor numbers at Viroi Park in Gjirokastër. Camper travellers now stop there during trips in southern Albania. The park offers a quiet setting, clean air, and open space. It attracts visitors who seek nature and calm conditions.

Meanwhile, Jolanda and Frans Koopman from the Netherlands spent the weekend at the park. They travelled across Europe with a camper. They said they had stayed in Albania for four days and planned to remain four or five more days before continuing to Greece. They arrived from Spain and said they travel frequently across Europe with a camper.

The couple said this was their third visit to Albania. They noted changes over time. They said roads were more difficult 10 to 15 years ago. They added that infrastructure now allows easier travel.

During their stay, they visited Gjirokastër by bicycle. They faced steep terrain during the ride. They described the experience as difficult. They also reached areas near the castle and highlighted the view from there.

They said this was their first visit to southern Albania. They prefer spring for travel. They said summer temperatures are too high for them.

Meanwhile, Viroi Park continues to attract camper travellers. The area offers space for stops and short stays. It provides a relaxed environment for visitors.

As a result, Gjirokastër strengthens its position as a destination that combines nature, culture, and hospitality.
