Edi Rama inaugurates restored Durrës Archaeological Museum with EU support

Edi Rama said the Archaeological Museum of Durrës reopens after major restoration under the EU4Culture programme.

He stated that the European Union has supported the restoration of 23 cultural heritage sites in Albania. Moreover, he highlighted the strong cooperation between Albania and the EU after the 2019 earthquake.

He said authorities used the reconstruction process to “build better and more beautifully.” In addition, he noted that some restoration projects are still ongoing.

Furthermore, Rama emphasized that cultural investment strengthens tourism and supports Albania’s EU path.

Finally, he thanked all contributors and described the project as a successful challenge completed.
