Albana Koçiu and Andis Salla visit olive collection center in Dushk

Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu and Agriculture Minister Andis Salla visited an olive collection and processing center in Dushk. Officials described the investment as a development engine for Elbasan County.

The facility, built by Sami Debrova, exports to international markets. It highlights the potential of Albanian agriculture. Koçiu called the business an inspiring example. She said a family initiative has grown into a competitive exporter with government support.

Koçiu stressed that the future of Albanian agriculture lies in quality and standards. She said farmers’ dedication is building that future every day.

At the center, olives are treated as a value-added product. Investments in technology and standards improved competitiveness abroad. The company Sagelo Olive has operated since 2008. It collects, packages, and preserves olives and pickled products using traditional methods.

The business processes about 4,000 quintals per year. It employs around nine workers. It also maintains a stable network with local farmers, strengthening the value chain. According to Salla, products are exported to the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, and other markets.
