TIRANA, April 30 – The Transparency Board has raised fuel prices by 5 ALL for both diesel and petrol in its decision dated 30 April 2026. Diesel now costs 208 ALL/litre, up from 203 ALL. Petrol is set at 185 ALL/litre.
The Board also set wholesale limits. Diesel may not exceed 196 ALL/litre. Petrol is capped at 173 ALL/litre.
The decision took effect today at 13:00. It will remain valid until the next Board meeting. At that meeting, the Board will review prices again based on market trends.
Authorities instructed all fuel operators to follow the decision. They warned that violations will lead to suspension of activity.
“The retail price of diesel, standard SSH EN 590, shall not exceed 208 ALL/litre. The wholesale price shall not exceed 196 ALL/litre. The retail price of petrol shall not exceed 185 ALL/litre. The wholesale price shall not exceed 173 ALL/litre. These prices took effect on 30 April at 13:00 and remain valid until the next Board meeting. All operators must comply with this decision. Authorities will suspend activity in case of violations,” the Board stated.
The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy said they will protect consumers and ensure fair competition in the market.
An explanatory note referred to Normative Act no. 1, dated 3 April 2026, on excise taxes. It sets thresholds of 220 ALL/litre for diesel and 200 ALL/litre for petrol. Current prices remain below these levels, so authorities continue to apply the full 100% excise rate.
