At a meeting held this Friday, the Working Group for amendments to the Statute of the Democratic Party of Albaniaapproved both the working methodology and a detailed calendar for the process of reviewing the party’s founding document.
According to the decision taken, the process will extend throughout the month of May and will include several phases, starting from the collection of proposals to final approval at the National Assembly.
Work calendar:
May 1 – May 10, 2026: All party members, including leading structures such as the Presidency, the National Council, and the Parliamentary Group, will have the opportunity to submit proposals for changes or improvements to the statute. Members of the Working Group must also submit their suggestions in writing.
May 11 – May 14, 2026: All submitted proposals will be reviewed.
May 15 – May 20, 2026: Drafting of the final version with the proposed amendments. The document will be submitted to the Chairman and the Secretary General for further procedures.
By May 25, 2026: The draft will be reviewed and approved by the party’s leading structures before being sent for voting at the National Assembly.
May 30, 2026: Final review and approval by the party’s National Assembly is expected.
According to the official announcement, until it is reviewed by the leadership bodies, the entire working process of the Group remains confidential, and meetings are held behind closed doors.
