“Eqrem Çabej” University Expands International Cooperation

Eqrem Çabej University in Gjirokastër is expanding its cooperation with international universities, creating more opportunities for academic exchanges and training for students and academic staff.

Currently, the institution has around 100 cooperation agreements with universities across Europe and the United States.

Rector Jaho Cana emphasized that most agreements involve countries in Western Europe, as well as others such as Romania, Bulgaria, and Poland. Cooperation has also been established in the U.S., including with a university in Michigan. In addition, joint programs have been launched with Italian universities.

According to him, the university has been widely involved in Erasmus+ programs, benefiting from European Unionprojects and increasing its role as both a partner and a leader in these initiatives.

The University of Gjirokastër offers around 24 study programs and remains the largest academic institution in the southern part of the country, with a tradition of approximately 60 years.
