Tirana Launches First Chocolate and Sweets Festival

Tirana hosts the first Chocolate and Sweets Festival and brings together producers, artisans, and visitors in a celebration of flavor and creativity.

The event takes place at “Tirana Moons” and receives support from the Municipality of Tirana, with organizers aiming to turn it into an annual tradition.

Tourism director Ketrina Jarazi opens the festival and promotes local production. She highlights the development of Albania’s sweets industry and says the event connects tradition with innovation.

The festival showcases traditional desserts such as baklava and heritage sweets alongside modern chocolate creations, reflecting a dynamic and evolving culinary scene in the capital.

Artisan chocolatier Erisa Gjikollari presents her handmade chocolate products. She explains that she grows cocoa in Italy and processes it naturally without chemicals or preservatives.

Another Albanian brand, ChocoAlb, presents artisanal chocolate made with ingredients sourced from Belgium, France, and Italy, combined with local products such as salt from Vlora, roses from Përmet, oranges from Saranda, and figs from Berat.

Organizers say the festival promotes local creativity, supports domestic producers, and encourages innovation in the food industry, while offering visitors a new way to experience Tirana through taste and creativity.
