TIRANA, May 4 – Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha met the newly appointed Turkish ambassador to Albania, Barıs Erciyes, in Tirana.
He said later on social media that the meeting reaffirmed the strategic partnership between the two countries. He also highlighted excellent relations developed over the years.
In addition, he described the ties as based on mutual respect, trust, close cooperation, shared historical and cultural links, and aligned interests as NATO allies.
Discussions focused on further strengthening bilateral cooperation. Both sides explored untapped potential in key sectors, including security, defence, infrastructure, tourism, education, and economic development.
Later, the talks addressed the expansion of trade and investment. The minister pointed to the strong and dynamic presence of Turkish businesses in Albania.
He also stressed the importance of sustained and coordinated efforts. These efforts aim to promote stability, security, and cooperation in the Western Balkans and beyond.
Finally, Hoxha expressed readiness for close cooperation with ambassador Erciyes. He said this cooperation will support deeper bilateral relations and advance shared priorities.
