Manjani: Draft Law on Foreigners Aligns Albania with EU Standards

Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation Olta Manjani held a meeting with the inter-institutional working group on the draft law “On Foreigners.”

She said the law forms an integral part of Chapter 2 on the free movement of people. She emphasized full alignment with European Union standards.

She stressed continued efforts to improve and harmonize Albania’s legal framework with EU acquis. She said this step supports the country’s EU integration process.

She praised ongoing support from GIZ. She said the organization provides technical expertise within the negotiation framework. She added that this improves the quality and consistency of legislation.

She said the working group reviewed proposed legal changes in detail. She said they aim to finalize the full legislative package.

She underlined that the reform strengthens legal certainty and supports Albania’s European integration goals.
