Holding Banners in Their Hands, Durrës Residents March in Protest Toward City Hall: “Two Young Lives Were Lost”

Residents of Durrës began a protest march this Wednesday toward the city hall in response to the tragic accident in which two minors lost their lives. Residents from the area where the accident occurred, along with other citizens, joined the march, which started just minutes earlier.

The protest began at the site of the incident in the Ish-Këneta area and is continuing toward the Municipality of Durrës. Protesters were seen holding photos of the victims, while two young participants carried a large banner reading: “Two young lives were lost! Where is justice?”

The tragic event occurred on Sunday, May 3, at around 2:20 p.m., in Neighborhood No. 15 of Durrës, where a vehicle driven by Nikoll Radaçi struck three minor children.

As a result of the accident, two of the children lost their lives, while the third child was seriously injured. The child remains hospitalized and is receiving medical care but is reported to be out of life-threatening danger.

The driver has been arrested, and authorities confirmed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. According to local residents, Radaçi was known in the area as a problematic individual. Neighbors stated that he frequently performed dangerous driving maneuvers and regularly consumed alcohol.
