Concert Celebrates 80th Birthday of Composer Shpëtim Kushta

The event was organized as part of the project “Nota mbi pentagram,” which was implemented by CEDI with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.

During the concert, organizers presented a selection of Kushta’s works, and the program offered audiences an emotional artistic journey.

Shpëtim Kushta, born in Vlora in 1946, is regarded as one of Albania’s most respected composers and music educators.

Over the course of his career, he has worked for more than 55 years and has composed in multiple genres, including symphonic works, songs, film music, and cantatas.

In addition, he has contributed significantly to music education as a professor at the University of Arts since 1967.

He has also received several honors, including “Merited Artist,” “Professor,” and “Grand Master.”

Moreover, his works have been performed in Albania and abroad, and they hold an important place in Albanian musical heritage.

The concert took place at the University of Arts in Tirana, and it featured the RTSH Symphony Orchestra and the TKOB Choir.

In the program, soloists Lorenc Radovani, Astrit Selita, Laura Kushta, Nina Muho, Olta Boka, and Kamela Islamaj performed Kushta’s works.

Meanwhile, conductors Eno Koço, Gridi Kraja, Olsi Qinami, and Dritan Lumshi led the performances.

Finally, Balina Bodinaku moderated the event, bringing the evening to a structured close.
