President Begaj Calls US Strategic Partnership Cornerstone of Albania’s Foreign Policy

President Bajram Begaj attended the 25th anniversary ceremony of cooperation between the Albanian Armed Forces and the New Jersey National Guard in Zall-Herr.

He said the strategic partnership with the United States is a key pillar of Albania’s foreign policy and security.

He described the cooperation as one of the most successful military partnerships between Albania and the United States. Begaj said it has built trust, professionalism, and strong human ties between the two sides.

He stressed that the Albanian Armed Forces have improved through training, joint exercises, and technical support. He said these efforts have brought the Albanian military closer to NATO standards.

Begaj added that the partnership should expand into military education, cyber defense, and strategic infrastructure. He mentioned projects like the Kuçova Air Base and the Porto Romano port.

He said regional security requires a strong NATO and continued US presence in the Balkans. He supported Kosovo’s membership in NATO.

He said Albania has made a clear strategic choice to stand with the United States and the democratic world.

He reaffirmed gratitude for the New Jersey National Guard and commitment to stronger cooperation with the United States.
