200,000 signatures delivered in The Hague in support of former Kosova Liberation Army leaders

TIRANA, May 7 – The Organisation of Kosova Liberation Army War Veterans said it delivered 200,000 signatures to the Kosova Specialist Chambers in The Hague in support of former Kosova Liberation Army leaders.

Veterans’ organisation head Hysni Gucati said the signatures represent “200,000 voices” calling for justice for the former commanders. He said the petition reflects what he described as the will of a nation that does not forget sacrifice.

Gucati also expressed confidence in what he called the “just war” of the Kosova Liberation Army. He said he hoped the former leaders would return to Kosovo this summer. He added that he expected “a different summer” with the former commanders at home in Kosovo.

Meanwhile, the Kosova Specialist Chambers confirmed an extension of the deadline for the judgment in the case against the former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders. Spokesperson Angela Griep told KosovaPress that 20 July does not mark the judgment date but the extended procedural deadline.

The trial against the four former Kosova Liberation Army leaders started on 3 April 2023, nearly three years after confirmation of the indictment. The defendants remain in detention in The Hague.
