Xhoela Bame, a young researcher from Korçë, has been named by the prestigious magazine Forbes as one of the “30 Under 30” individuals with extraordinary global impact — a recognition that places her among the most promising names in science and medicine.
For several years, the young woman from Korça has been living and working between the United States and England, where she has been engaged in scientific research focused on brain regeneration and the mechanisms that influence brain aging.
“Forbes selects the 30 most outstanding talents. My inclusion was in the field of science and medicine for my research work on brain regeneration, the mechanisms that lead to its aging, and treatments to regenerate it,” said Xhoela Bame, researcher.
Being included on this list is a rare achievement for Albanians, especially in the field of science, and for this reason Xhoela considers it a moment of both personal and national pride.
“It is a great success. Albania is known around the world for art, but less for science. To have work that not only brings personal benefit, but also impacts society as a whole, is a victory for the entire field of science,” she added.
Her success does not stop there. Currently, the Albanian researcher is involved in another ambitious project, this time in the field of heart regeneration and cardiovascular diseases, in collaboration with University of Oxford.
“I am working on heart regeneration and cardiovascular diseases in collaboration with the University of Oxford. I always keep Albania in my mind and heart. I have supported young people through mentoring and I am always ready to contribute,” Xhoela emphasized.
At a time when science is transforming the future of humanity, the name of a young woman from Korça is rising among the best. Through her innovative research and international recognition, Xhoela Bame is proving that Albanian talent can leave a significant mark on the global stage.
