“We Support Ambassador Gonzato” – German Embassy Publishes Statement by EU Ambassadors in Tirana

The German Embassy in Tirana has published a message from the dean of the diplomatic corps of European Union member states, the Ambassador of Cyprus to Athens, Stavros Avgoustides, who also covers Albania.

The published message contains a joint statement by EU Ambassadors accredited in Albania, emphasizing their full support for the EU Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, and his team.

“On Europe Day, we stand united in support of the EU Ambassador and his team, and we reaffirm our full confidence in their professionalism, integrity, and dedicated service,” the joint statement of the EU Ambassadors accredited in Albania says.

It should be recalled that this message published by the German Embassy in Tirana comes one day after the chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, once again criticized the European Union’s chief diplomat in Tirana, accusing him of behaving, according to Berisha, like an ambassador for Prime Minister Edi Rama.

“This gentleman has allegedly conveyed to Brussels the most untrue fabrications against the opposition, as if we are against integration. Not to mention many other things,” Berisha declared.
