EU Condemns Attacks Against Ambassador Gonzato

European Union condemned the statements made by Sali Berisha against EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato.

In a social media post, the EU Delegation in Tirana shared a statement from a European Union spokesperson. The statement described the remarks against Ambassador Gonzato as unacceptable.

The EU strongly condemned the personal attacks made on Europe Day. It also expressed full confidence in Silvio Gonzato and praised his professionalism and integrity.

The reaction came one day after Sali Berisha accused the EU ambassador of acting in favor of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Berisha also claimed that the ambassador had allegedly sent misleading information to Brussels about the Albanian opposition and its position on European integration.
