On the Eve of Eurovision Song Contest 2026, Albanian Radio and Television introduces special programme with live coverage and interviews

TIRANA, May 12 – Albanian Radio and Television launches the programme “Prag Eurovision”, presented as “On the Eve of Eurovision”, dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.

Meanwhile, the broadcaster said the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest begins in a few hours. In this context, it added that the special programme will air on 12 and 14 May from 20:30 to 21:00. Andri Xhahu and Antoneta Koçi will present the show.

In terms of format, Albanian Radio and Television said the programme will include interviews, live connections, and backstage material from the event. At the same time, it will cover developments around Albania’s participation in the contest.

Andri Xhahu, presenter of the programme, said this format appears for the first time on both semi-final nights. He added that the show airs immediately after the news edition and runs for 30 minutes. Also, Xhahu confirmed live links between Vienna and Tirana. In addition, he highlighted coverage of preparations and reactions involving Albanian artist Alis Kallaçi, who performs the song “Nan”.

Furthermore, Xhahu explained that the first night will focus on the history of the Eurovision Song Contest. He noted that this year marks the 70th edition and Albania’s 22nd participation. Meanwhile, he said the second night will focus on Albania’s performance and the call for public voting.

Antoneta Koçi co-presents the programme with Xhahu. Finally, Albanian Radio and Television said the initiative aims to bring viewers closer to one of the world’s most followed music events through live coverage and editorial segments.
