Metro: Albania Tops Europe’s Budget-Friendly Holiday Destinations

Albania ranks among Europe’s top affordable summer destinations, according to the UK newspaper Metro.

The article highlights Albania’s coastline, nature, and low prices. It compares the country favorably with Spain and Greece. Journalist Alice Murphy says families now spend more carefully. As a result, many tourists choose cheaper destinations.

She adds that travelers still want sun, pools, and full holidays. However, they avoid high costs and debt. Tour operators report a shift in travel trends. Tourists move away from mass tourism spots. They look for better value and longer stays.

Albania gains strong popularity in this context.

Murphy says beaches in Saranda and Ksamil offer views similar to Greece. Yet prices remain much lower. She also notes strong demand from families and couples. They want unique experiences without luxury costs.

For example, budget packages include flights and seven nights in Tirana for about £316 per person. The article also highlights museums, city life, and the Albanian Riviera.

Finally, Albania appears alongside Montenegro, Turkey, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It confirms Albania’s growing role in European tourism.
