Yzeiraj: Albania Remains Attractive for Foreign Investment

Endrit Yzeiraj said Albania is strengthening economic cooperation with North Macedonia through joint initiatives aimed at increasing trade and investment.

He made the remarks at the Business Forum “North Macedonia–Albania: Beyond Borders” held in Skopje.

The forum was organized by the Albanian Embassy in Skopje in cooperation with the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia.

Yzeiraj said both countries share history and a connected future, and he called for stronger economic ties beyond political and social relations.

He stated that Albania remains an attractive destination for foreign investment due to stable economic growth and consolidated public finances.

In addition, he highlighted key sectors such as tourism, renewable energy, digital services, and agro-processing.

He welcomed investments from North Macedonia in these areas.

Yzeiraj also pointed to the role of institutions like AIDA, AIC, TEDA Tirana, and Durana Park in supporting development projects.

He stressed that EU integration remains Albania’s strategic path, increasing investor confidence and economic potential.

Furthermore, he said regional countries must strengthen their common market before competing in the European market.

He called for deeper integration, reduced trade barriers, faster customs procedures, and mutual recognition of certifications.

He also emphasized the strategic importance of Corridor VIII, which includes ports, roads, railways, energy interconnections, and digital infrastructure.

He described it as a key economic, political, and security project for the region.

Albanian Ambassador to North Macedonia Denion Meidani said cooperation must move from dialogue to concrete economic action.

He stressed that geography makes the countries neighbors, history brings them closer, but the economy should make them true partners.

Finally, official data showed trade between Albania and North Macedonia reached about 23 billion lekë by the end of 2025, reflecting strong economic exchange between the two countries.
