Albanian Telegraphic Agency exhibition at Tirana Castle draws interest from foreign tourists

TIRANA, May 13 – The exhibition “A Journey Through the History of News”, opened by the Albanian news agency (ATSH) on May 9 at Tirana Castle, is attracting strong interest from local and foreign visitors. Visitors described the exhibition as an important contribution to understanding the history and development of Albanian media.

The exhibition presents archival materials, photographs and historical equipment linked to the evolution of news reporting in Albania. Many visitors expressed enthusiasm about the collection and the historical memories connected to it.

Turning to visitor reactions, an Albanian visitor described the exhibition as highly special and nostalgic for generations raised with Albanian Telegraphic Agency reporting. He said the exhibition honours journalists and media professionals who contributed to Albanian news over decades.

In addition, a tourist from Vancouver, Canada, said the exhibition helped visitors learn more about Albania and its history. She described the experience as impressive and said she plans to return to the country in the future.

Meanwhile, a tourist guide named Erald recalled an emotional moment during the exhibition. He said a woman recognised herself in an old photograph displayed in the collection, creating strong interest among the tourists accompanying him.

Tourists from Poland also visited the exhibition and described it as an opportunity to understand Albania’s historical transformation. They said they found the country modern and highlighted differences they observed during visits across the region.

Another foreign visitor described the exhibition as an unexpected discovery inside the Tirana Castle area. He said additional descriptive text could provide broader historical context for the photographs and archival material.

Beyond visitor impressions, another guest highlighted the importance of media heritage and historical memory. He said the exhibition helps visitors understand the development of Albanian journalism and its role in society over time.

The exhibition traces the history of Albanian information and media through documents, photographs and archival testimony linked to major national events. It also includes early transmission machines, radio stations, telegraphs, bulletins and black-and-white photographs produced by Albanian Telegraphic Agency laboratories.

Albanian Telegraphic Agency organised the exhibition in cooperation with German Press Agency. The exhibition will remain open to the public in the coming days at Tirana Castle.
