Rama: PD has “removed intellectuals from its system”

Prime Minister Edi Rama gave an interview marking the 35th anniversary of the newspaper “Koha Jonë” and 29 years since its burning. The interview was conducted by publisher Nikollë Lesi.

During the discussion, Rama commented on the political opposition. He focused on the Democratic Party.

Moreover, he said the Democratic Party “pushes out intellectuals from its system.” He claimed that more extreme voices dominate instead.

He also argued that individuals with intellectual capacity do not remain within the party structure.

In addition, Rama said political success in the party, as he described it, is often linked to confrontation and radical rhetoric.

He added that this trend has shaped the party over time.

Furthermore, he referred to former Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha, saying he represented a more intellectual figure in the past.

Rama also addressed media freedom during the interview. He said most media outlets remain critical of the government.

Finally, he stated that many headlines are often directed against the government.
