Koçiu: Modern “Welcome Center” in Saranda blends infrastructure and tradition

Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu visited the “Welcome Center” in Saranda, a multifunctional facility that will open soon.

She said the project combines modern infrastructure and European standards with Albania’s tradition of hospitality.

Moreover, Koçiu toured the new building together with Saranda Mayor Oltion Çaçi. The site includes 100 public parking spaces for buses and private vehicles.

She described the facility as the city’s first “gateway of hospitality.” She said it is a public investment focused on visitor parking and tourism support.

In addition, Koçiu said the center is not only a parking area. It also includes cafés, restaurants, and waiting spaces for travelers.

She stressed that the project addresses long-standing parking challenges in Saranda.

Furthermore, she said the facility will help better manage tourist flows and improve urban organization in the city.

The building covers 8,000 square meters and includes three floors and an underground parking level.

At the same time, Koçiu said the investment is part of a broader urban tourism infrastructure project for Saranda.

She called Saranda one of the “jewels of Albanian tourism” and said the project ensures more sustainable tourism development.

Meanwhile, Mayor Çaçi said the center is one of the most important investments in the city. He noted that it was completed with support from the Albanian government, the Albanian Development Fund and the World Bank.

Finally, he said the center will open this month, ahead of the summer season, helping reduce traffic congestion in the city center.
