University of Arts honors sculptor Kristaq Rama, certificate received by Zaho Rama

The University of Arts marked its 60th anniversary today. It awarded certificates of appreciation to more than 30 personalities. These individuals contributed to the institution’s development.

The ceremony took place in Tirana. Students, alumni, professors and cultural figures attended the event.

Among the honorees was sculptor Kristaq Rama. He was recognized for his key role in founding the Faculty of Fine Arts. He also helped develop higher education in the arts.

The university praised his lasting impact on generations of artists and on the institution’s academic identity.

During the ceremony, the certificate was received by his grandson, Zaho Rama. The audience applauded the moment.

Kristaq Rama (1932–1998) is known as a founding figure of higher artistic education in Albania.

The event also highlighted the presence of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s family, drawing attention during the ceremony.
