Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met today in Tirana with a delegation from the Swedish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, led by Morgan Johansson.
During the meeting, Hoxha praised Sweden’s continued support for Albania’s European Union integration process. He also highlighted Sweden’s contribution to Albania’s democratic, institutional and socio-economic development over the years.
Meanwhile, the two sides exchanged views on Albania’s progress in EU accession negotiations. They stressed the importance of maintaining the pace of reforms and advancing key priorities linked to the rule of law, democratic institutions and good governance.
In addition, they discussed the need to address shared regional and global challenges through closer coordination, dialogue and cooperation among partners and allies.
Hoxha also reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Sweden. He underlined the importance of deeper parliamentary cooperation and broader collaboration in areas of common strategic interest.
Finally, Hoxha said Albania highly values Sweden’s friendship and partnership. He added that both countries aim to continue close cooperation in support of a stronger and more united Europe.
