Tourism minister looks at preparations in Jala and Dhërmi ahead of summer season

TIRANA, May 14 – Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja looked at preparations on the beaches of Jala and Dhërmi ahead of the new summer season. He reviewed readiness measures and ongoing work along the coastal areas.

Gonxhja said operators and local authorities still need to complete several works and arrangements before the start of the season. He stressed the need for clean beaches, proper hygiene standards and orderly public spaces.

He added that authorities continue to monitor beach stations, watercraft, piers, accommodation structures and service operators. Municipalities, inspection bodies and law enforcement agencies are also overseeing the process together with licensed lifeguards and tourism professionals.

Meanwhile, Gonxhja said authorities are finalising applications for beach stations and processing approved contracts for 2026 and the following years. He added that institutions are also coordinating coastal cleaning efforts and the formalisation of activities along the shoreline.
