PM Rama: Estonia roadmap for Albania in digital transformation and education

TIRANA, May 15 – Prime Minister Edi Rama praised Estonia’s model of technological development and digital innovation during a joint press conference with Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal in Tallinn on Friday.

Rama described Estonia as a “laboratory of the future” and said the Baltic country has built a modern state focused on technology and innovation. He added that Albania considers Estonia an important example for digital transformation and artificial intelligence development.

Meanwhile, Rama highlighted cooperation between the two countries, particularly in education and technology. He said Albania aims to follow the Estonian model and noted that 95% of Albanian public services are already available online.

Referring to artificial intelligence, Rama said Albania wants to learn from Estonia’s experience in preparing younger generations for technological change. He also thanked Estonia for its readiness to host Albanian professionals and students for further training and exchanges.

In addition, Rama said Albania and Estonia share the same position within NATO and oppose foreign interference targeting democratic societies. He added that both countries experienced difficult historical periods under imposed regimes and now remain committed to protecting democracy and strengthening their future within the Euro-Atlantic community.
