Hammond highlights Albania’s progress in digital transformation

TIRANA, May 15 – Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy Kathryn Hammond highlighted the importance of cyber security during an event presenting American cyber security solutions. She linked cyber security to economic development and national defence.

According to the U.S. Embassy, Hammond said cyber security has become inseparable from economic growth and national security. She also said Albania has made significant progress in digital transformation.

In addition, Hammond pointed to developments in electronic governance, financial modernisation and energy infrastructure. She stressed that critical systems require advanced and reliable protection technologies.

Meanwhile, the embassy said Hammond referred to U.S. priorities on digital security. She noted that President Donald Trump has underlined the importance of protecting digital infrastructure from foreign threats for sovereignty and national security.
