Opposition Joined Votes for EU Resolution, Rama: They Understood the Process Is Unstoppable

Prime Minister Edi Rama said he was surprised by the opposition joining the majority in Parliament to vote for the resolution related to the country’s membership in the European Union.

In his podcast “Flasim,” Rama stated that by participating in the vote on the resolution, the opposition indirectly acknowledged that there is no blockage in Albania’s negotiations with the EU.

“I am glad that something like this happened. It would be good if it happened more often when it comes to EU membership, but even this once has its own value. They have understood that the process is unstoppable and that the much-talked-about blockage does not exist. Soon, good news will come regarding the transition to the next step of the process, and the work on closing the chapters will begin. Unity is welcome,” he said.
