Hita to Subordinates: Drugs Near Schools?! Unacceptable, Take Urgent Measures!

Through an official telegram sent to local police directorates and departments, Police Chief Skënder Hita has ordered increased security measures in schools and stronger action against the distribution of narcotics within the security perimeter of educational institutions.

It is learned that Hita’s order came after an analysis of issues during the 2024–2025 school year, as well as concerns raised recently by a parent whose child had reportedly been offered cannabis near a high school in the capital.

Hita requested that school safety become a priority in the daily work of police forces, ordering periodic and surprise inspections not only through visible patrols but also with undercover officers.

He also demanded continuous communication with school security officers and school administrators regarding problematic students, conflicts, or information about the possession of cold weapons, as well as businesses near schools that sell prohibited products such as alcohol and tobacco to individuals under the age of 18.
