Incident occurred at Eurovision as the Serbian delegation attempted to remove the Kosovo flag

The grand final of Eurovision was also marked by an incident at the Media Center. During the performance of Albanian singer Alis Kallaci, a member of the Serbian delegation allegedly tried to prevent the waving of the Kosovo flag.

Albert Limani, a member of Eurovision Kosova who was present in the media hall, was seen in a video stopping a woman from the Serbian delegation during her attempt to remove the Kosovo flag.

According to his statement on Facebook, Limani said that the woman from the Serbian delegation approached the group of Albanians at the Media Center saying, “This flag is not allowed here.”

He added that the situation ended without further escalation.

“While we were celebrating Albania’s performance at Eurovision together with other colleagues at the Media Center in Vienna, a woman from the Serbian delegation came and tried to take away the Kosovo flag from us, telling us that ‘this flag is not allowed here.’ Of course, she tried to touch it, but I did not allow her and she stepped back. The Kosovo flag will fly and will be allowed everywhere, and we will protect it at all costs,” he declared.

The incident happened on the very night of the Eurovision final, where Albania, represented by Alis Kallaci with the song “Nan”, finished in 13th place with a total of 145 points. From the public vote, the Albanian artist received 85 points, securing considerable support from the European audience.

Bulgarian pop star Dara won the Eurovision Song Contest with her energetic dance anthem “Bangaranga.”
