Shkodër Historical Museum Welcomes Many Visitors in a Warm Atmosphere

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images from the Shkodër Historical Museum, showing it filled with local and foreign visitors. He described the museum as having a lively and pleasant atmosphere.

The museum began its organization in 1947 under the name “People’s Museum” and was fully established in 1949. It was initially located in the city center in a 19th-century monumental building near the Clock Tower.

The museum was built on collections from Jesuit and Franciscan convents dating back to the late 19th century, as well as collections from well-known Shkodër families.

In 1996, it was moved to the traditional house “Oso Kuka,” where it remains today.

The museum includes sections of ethnography, archaeology, visual arts, and a library, and it operates under the Municipality of Shkodër cultural network.
