EU4Trade Supports Higher Plant Production Standards in Albania and Kosovo

The European Union supports Albania and Kosovo in improving plant production and plant health monitoring through the “EU4Trade” project.

As part of the initiative, inspectors from the General Directorate of Plant Protection and regional veterinary and plant protection authorities from both countries met in Prizren over the weekend.

They attend joint training sessions. They learn modern methods for phytosanitary monitoring and control of fruits and vegetables. The goal is to improve production standards and strengthen plant product safety.

Participants emphasize the need to align procedures with European Union standards. They highlight that harmonization improves product quality and supports regional trade.

Experts describe the meeting as an important step. It strengthens institutional cooperation. It also builds professional capacity in plant protection across both countries.
