TIRANA, May 20 – Slovak cyclist Samuel Fedor has won the second stage of the 83rd Tour of Albania, held from Lezha to Elbasan over 149.9 kilometres.
Fedor of Dukla Banska Bystrica secured victory after a strong sprint finish and recorded a time of 3 hours, 6 minutes and 26 seconds. Swiss cyclist Guillaume Haldimann of Humard VP finished second with the same time, while Belgian rider Lance Decabooter placed third.
Belgian cyclist Kjell Cooman leads the overall classification after two stages with a total time of 6 hours, 58 minutes and 57 seconds. Romanian rider Iustin Ioan Vaidian follows in second place, 7 seconds behind, while Haldimann ranks third overall.
Among Albanian riders, Gabriele De Fabritiis holds the highest position in the general classification in 29th place.
The 83rd Tour of Albania continues with the third stage from Elbasan to Vlora, covering 172.4 kilometres.
