TIRANA, May 21 – Students in Tirana have announced a protest on May 26 in Skanderbeg Square at 17:00.
The Student Alliance said the march will continue from the square toward the Embassy of North Macedonia. They used the slogan “Albanianness is with Skopje” and called on all young people to join the protest.
Two days earlier, several students from Tirana traveled in support of Albanian students in Skopje. The Skopje students are demanding the right to take the law exam in the Albanian language. The group was stopped at the border with North Macedonia.
The organizers said the protest is not directed against anyone. They said it aims to protect the Albanian language, dignity, and the rights of Albanians as equal citizens in North Macedonia.
