TIRANA, May 21 – The Kosova Central Election Commission (CEC) has prepared individual ballot packages for voters registered abroad ahead of postal voting for early parliamentary elections.
The CEC said its voter service has prepared 75,000 packages so far. In addition, around 30,000 more packages will be completed during Wednesday, according to spokesperson Valmir Elezi.
Each package contains a voting guide, a ballot paper, a secrecy envelope, and a return envelope. Meanwhile, an economic operator will distribute the packages to different countries.
Postal services will start delivery on Thursday, May 21. At the same time, authorities plan to distribute around 105,000 packages in total. Each shipment includes a tracking number. This allows registered voters to follow the location of their ballot package.
Voting by post will run from May 21 to June 6. In addition, the CEC urged voters not to wait until the last day and to send their ballots as early as possible to ensure timely arrival for counting in Kosova.
Meanwhile, the CEC has activated postal boxes in 22 countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Canada, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, the United Kingdom, Norway, the United States, Albania, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, and Switzerland. A permanent postal box also operates in Kosova.
