Prime Minister Edi Rama said the Socialist Party guaranteed stability and brought Albania closer to the European Union over the past 35 years.
Speaking at the anniversary event in Durrës, Rama called the milestone an important moment for reflection and celebration. He thanked party members for their contribution through the years.
He recalled the party’s early years and said members faced strong resistance while building support across Albania.
Rama said the Socialist Party transformed itself and helped transform Albania. He said the party addressed the country’s needs and led major reforms.
He stressed that the Socialist Party ensured stability when Albania needed it most. He added that the party took bold steps and pushed forward key reforms.
Rama said the party’s work has brought Albania closer than ever to the European Union. He described EU integration as one of the country’s main achievements.
He also praised the party’s latest election result in Durrës. He said the Socialist Party won its strongest result ever in the district.
Rama added that the party opened its anniversary events in Durrës because the city reflects both Albania’s transformation and the party’s long political journey.
