TIRANA, May 26 – Albania has officially joined the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation, Environment Minister Sofjan Jaupaj announced on Tuesday.

He said Albania joined countries that promote biodiversity protection through responsible and sustainable wildlife management. In addition, he confirmed the country’s commitment to a modern and science-based model for wildlife and natural resource administration. According to Jaupaj, the model follows European standards and the country’s new legal framework.

Meanwhile, Jaupaj thanked the Albanian Hunters Federation for helping organise the high-level meeting in Tirana. He also praised the federation’s continued role in modernising and reforming the hunting sector in Albania.

At the same time, Albania joined 29 other countries in the global network of the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation. The membership creates a framework for long-term cooperation on wildlife protection, monitoring, and hunting legislation development.
