The co-chair of the Special Commission on Electoral Reform, Damian Gjiknuri, announced this Thursday that together with his colleague Oerd Bylykbashi, he held a meeting with a delegation of representatives from the Venice Commission.
The delegation consisted of members Veronika Bilkova, Oliver Kask, and Saša Zagorc, as well as DGI experts Yves-Marie Doublet and Laura Stefan.
According to Gjiknuri, the meeting focused on the progress made so far by the Electoral Reform Commission, with particular attention given to the new draft law on the financing of political parties.
“We held extensive consultations with them regarding the new draft law on political party financing,” Gjiknuri stated, emphasizing that the initiative is currently in the consultation phase with interest groups, civil society, and international partners.
After the consultation process is completed, the draft law is expected to proceed to parliamentary procedures for approval.
