Russia Requested the Withdrawal of Diplomats From Kyiv, Hoxha: Threatening Embassies Is Not Diplomacy

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha reacted in a post on X regarding Russia’s request for foreign diplomats to leave Kyiv.

Hoxha emphasized that threatening embassies is not diplomacy and clearly expressed Albania’s decision to continue supporting Ukraine.

“Albania considers Russia’s announcement calling on diplomatic personnel and foreign citizens to leave Kyiv ahead of planned attacks to be completely unacceptable.

Threatening embassies is not diplomacy; it is intimidation. It represents yet another violation of international law and of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

Albania will not withdraw. We remain in Kyiv. We stand firmly with Ukraine. And we will not be intimidated.

The answer to this war cannot be more war, more crimes, or indiscriminate attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The only way forward is to end a war that should never have started and to engage in genuine, good-faith negotiations for peace.

This was also conveyed very clearly today to the Russian Ambassador in Tirana,” he wrote.
