A two-day international scientific conference opened in Pristina on Thursday. The event focuses on “Water as a Source of Energy and Environmental Protection: Balance Towards a Sustainable Future.”
The conference comes through cooperation between the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo and the Academy of Sciences of Albania.
Moreover, the event brought together well-known researchers, experts, and representatives of scientific institutions from Albania and Kosovo.
The conference aims to promote scientific discussions on sustainable water management. In addition, participants are discussing renewable energy, environmental protection, and innovative technologies for monitoring and treating water pollution.
The main topics include water resources and energy potential in the region. Furthermore, experts are examining renewable energy strategies, advanced water treatment technologies, and integrated water management for sustainable development.
Prof. Zydi Teqja, a member of the Water Resources Unit at the Academy of Sciences of Albania, delivered the keynote speech.
At the same time, several researchers presented studies and scientific findings. Among them were Besnik Baraj, Adem Bekteshi, Valbona Kolaneci, Amilda Ballata, Rozarta Nezaj, Edlira Tako, Orjada Hyska, Ervis Krymbi, and Ana Ameda.
Finally, the conference will continue with discussions on policy and strategic recommendations for water resource management across Albanian-speaking regions.
