Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari took part on Monday in a consultation meeting on Albania’s new national strategy against organized crime and serious criminal offenses for 2026–2030.
The strategy will guide government policies in this area over the next five years.
Meanwhile, Lamallari said the new document aims to build a stronger system to protect citizens. He added that it will also strengthen the rule of law and support Albania’s European integration process.
According to the minister, the new approach will focus on prevention, intelligence, financial investigations and stronger national and international cooperation.
He stressed that effective policies need open dialogue and close cooperation between institutions. At the same time, Lamallari said the fight against organized crime requires a long-term vision and stronger institutional coordination.
He also highlighted the role of society in this process. He thanked state institutions, experts, international partners, civil society and the media for their ideas and contributions during the consultations.
The strategy is expected to become a key part of Albania’s efforts to improve security and strengthen the rule of law in the coming years.
