Trump Nominates New Ambassadors for Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro

U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated several candidates for ambassadorial positions, including ambassadors to a number of Western Balkan countries.

Michael Young of Utah has been nominated to serve as the United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Serbia. Ronald Johnson of Massachusetts has been nominated as Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Peter McCoy of South Carolina has been proposed as Ambassador to Montenegro.

Under the U.S. appointment process, ambassadorial nominations are made by the President and submitted to the Senate, which holds confirmation hearings before voting to approve or reject the nominees.

In addition to diplomatic appointments, the nominations include several other senior positions within the U.S. administration, such as federal prosecutors, inspectors general, and members of regulatory commissions. Among them are Carl Anderson of Virginia, nominated to serve as Inspector General of the Department of State; Gay Bay, nominated for a position within the Department of Health and Human Services; and Johnny Figueroa of Tennessee, nominated for a role focused on global health diplomacy and the fight against HIV/AIDS.

All nominations are subject to confirmation by the United States Senate.
