Hoxha and Van Hoof Discuss New Initiatives to Strengthen Albania–Belgium Relations

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met with Els Van Hoof to discuss ways to deepen cooperation between Albania and Belgium.

During the meeting, Hoxha thanked Belgium for its continued support for the European Union enlargement process and for Albania’s EU membership bid. He also praised the constructive bilateral cooperation that has grown steadily over the years.

Furthermore, the two officials stressed the importance of maintaining strong political dialogue and expanding parliamentary exchanges. Hoxha said regular communication helps strengthen cooperation and supports a more united and effective Europe.

He also highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting mutual understanding, supporting reform efforts and bringing institutions and societies closer together.

In addition, Hoxha and Van Hoof exchanged views on the renewed momentum of EU enlargement and discussed the strategic importance of the Western Balkans for Europe’s security, stability and prosperity.

Hoxha reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to advancing reforms and moving forward with EU accession negotiations. He also thanked Van Hoof for her openness, engagement and leadership.

Finally, the minister expressed confidence that both countries will expand their constructive dialogue and turn it into concrete initiatives that further strengthen Albania–Belgium relations.
