The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Enena Karakaçi, stated to the media following the government meeting that the ministry has given the contracting companies responsible for the construction of Vlora International Airport a 30-day deadline to resolve their commercial dispute.
Karakaçi emphasized that Vlora Airport will be completed and become operational according to the timeline established by the contractors.
“The Vlora Airport project is currently affected by a commercial dispute between two partners. They voluntarily undertook the project and committed to its construction. This commercial disagreement has created a negative perception regarding the airport.
The ministry has acted cautiously, but I recently sent them an official letter requesting that the commercial dispute be resolved.
We have given them a 30-day deadline to settle the disagreement concerning Vlora Airport. We have also offered to participate in negotiations as the government if necessary.
Construction progress at the airport has been satisfactory. We will take all necessary measures to ensure that the project is completed as quickly as possible and in accordance with the deadlines set by the companies themselves.
Vlora Airport will be built and will become operational,” Karakaçi said.
