Program ‘Double Your Enterprise’ launches July 1 with €250 mln fund for businesses

TIRANA, June 3 – Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj said the government will launch the “Double Your Enterprise” programme on July 1. The scheme aims to support Albanian businesses through new financing opportunities.

Ibrahimaj said the Bank of Albania has made €250 million available for the programme. In addition, the government has introduced a sovereign guarantee that will cover up to 70% of collateral requirements for participating businesses. She said the mechanism will allow companies to access financing at interest rates ranging from 2% to 3%, depending on risk levels. The programme will target small and medium-sized enterprises across sectors that require further development.

Meanwhile, the government approved revisions to the National Employment Strategy. The changes focus on expanding the Youth Guarantee programme. Ibrahimaj said the initiative aims to create more opportunities for employment, vocational training and self-employment for young people. She added that authorities will help participants develop skills, find jobs or secure support for business projects. The current self-employment programme remains open until June 4 for applicants with business ideas.

In addition, the cabinet approved the “Hospitality Albania” programme. The Albanian Investment Corporation will manage the initiative. The programme foresees the rehabilitation and commercial use of government villas in Vlora and Velipojë through cooperation with the private sector.

However, Ibrahimaj stressed that private partners will only manage the assets. She said the state will not transfer ownership of the properties to private entities.
