TIRANA, June 4 – Prime Minister Edi Rama defended a planned 4 billion euro investment in Zvërnec after publishing a video on Facebook showing the site. Meanwhile, he said the footage reflects the current condition of the area and differs from criticism by opponents of the project. In addition, he said the initiative aims to transform the coastal zone and strengthen Albania’s position in international tourism.
He said the investment would place Albania “in the Champions League of global tourism” and described the area as degraded. However, he said critics of the project obstruct development rather than protect the environment.
At the same time, a citizen from Vlora expressed support for the project in a message published by Rama. The citizen said the area is in poor condition and needs rehabilitation. He said opposition reflects resistance to development rather than environmental concerns and urged the government to proceed with the investment. He added that the project would bring long-term benefits to residents.
