Malaj Meets IMF: Albanian Economy Shows Stable Growth

Finance Minister Petrit Malaj held a meeting with the head of the International Monetary Fund mission for Albania, Diego Cerdeiro, as part of regular consultations on economic and fiscal developments.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the performance of the Albanian economy. They noted that it continues to show stable and positive growth despite global economic challenges.

Furthermore, Minister Malaj emphasized the importance of close cooperation with the IMF. He said the institution plays a key role in supporting economic and fiscal policies that ensure long-term stability and development.

In addition, IMF representative Cerdeiro praised Albania’s progress in maintaining macroeconomic stability. He also stressed the importance of continuing prudent fiscal policies and structural reforms.

Moreover, the discussions focused on reforms aimed at increasing productivity, improving the business climate, and developing human capital.

Finally, both sides highlighted the importance of advancing Albania’s European integration process as part of its long-term economic strategy.
